ANITA ANDREWS

Anita is a Choreographer, Creative Director and Performer. She has been dancing, instructing and performing all over Australia, London, and Singapore for over 20 years.

Anita started her dance journey in high school after successfully auditioning and joining her high school dance team. She pursued regular hip-hop classes due to her love for R&B music and later fell in love with bollywood at university. She was approached by three consecutive Melbourne University Indian Cultural Club presidents to choreograph bollywood dance routines for their annual showcase of over 50 dancers on stage at one time.

In 2006, Anita performed at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) alongside celebrities like Aiswarya Rai Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, & Rani Mukarjee. In 2007, Anita was hand picked to join the Shiamak Davar Institute of Dance Melbourne (SDIDM) dance team and went through rigorous intensive dance training for seven years to become a trained dancer in Bollywood, Indo-Jazz and Indian Semi Classical styles. During this time she performed at multiple major events like the Melbourne Indian Film Festival (MIFF), UNI-CEF, Diwali at FedSquare, Stars of Bollywood, Moomba Festival alongside Bollywood Celebrities; Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Malaika Arora, Sohail Khan etc.

Anita moved to London to pursue her dreams as a dancer and instructor and began teaching regular classes at the world renowned Pineapple Dance Studios London. During this time, Anita performed at The Vitality Show in Olympia,The Regent Street Festival, Red Cross Charity Event, Mind Body Spirit Festival, T-Mobile’s Big Dance, and taught a bollywood dance workshop at The World’s Biggest Dance Event “Move It” London with hundreds of dancers from all over the world. 

Anita has since choreographed numerous dance routines and performed for shows like The Dabang Tour, Bhangra Down Under, Melbourne Stars and Holi Mela Festival etc. alongside Bollywood Celebrities; Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva, Sonakshi Sinha, Disha Patani, Bipasha Basu, Daisy Shah, Adnan Sami, Mickey Singh, Panjabi MC, Bally Sagoo, Neha Kakkar, Stereo Nation, RDB, Sukhbir Singh.

In 2017, Anita wanted to expand her caliber and versatility as a dancer and choreographer and began dancing Bachata, Kizomba & Reggaeton.

She joined the MFassis Reggaeton Dance Crew, competed and won multiple national titles.

Anita was a co-instructor for The Sara Panero’s Ladies Performance Team Melbourne. Anita and her team joined Sara and 100 other ladies across Australia in Sydney for one of the largest bachata ladies team performance in Australia. 

Anita has performed in numerous bootcamps with International Bachata & Kizomba Artists in Singapore and Australia. She travels to Europe annually to train in Bachata Sensual & Kizomba/Urban Kizomba/Kizomba Fusion. She recently was under the tutelage and guidance of Korke and Judith (The Creators of Bachata Sensual based in Spain) and is an Officially Certified Bachata Sensual Instructor. 

Anita is a disciple of the renowned Dr. Chandrabhanu of the Chandrabhanu Bharatalaya Academy, who owns Melbournes’ oldest and most respected Indian classical dance institutions.

Anita strives to give her best to every one of her clients. In the Entertainment Industry, you would be hard pushed to find someone with her talent and highly commendable work ethic.
